Newsletter from CARL II

CARL II has been completed, and the Fellows have published their final newsletter. Applications to become part of CARL III are open.

The education of future leaders is the cornerstone of ensuring professional development and stability; it is not something to be left to chance. In the business world, there are MBA programs; in the military, there is officer training. In chiropractic and research, we have the Chiropractic Academy for Research Leadership (CARL), which helps ensure that our best and most talented younger researchers succeed in their research careers.

Since its establishment, two CARL cohorts have been completed. The first cohort, CARL, was conducted as planned from 2017 to 2019. CARL II has followed a somewhat different course compared to its predecessor. The COVID-19 pandemic struck, which also impacted CARL II.

During the pandemic, CARL was conducted via Zoom, but in August 2022, the entire CARL II group met for the first time at SDU in Odense. Later, the CARL II Fellows met in Sydney, Australia, and in August 2024, CARL II held their final residential in Edmonton, Canada.

Now CARL II has been completed, and the Fellows have published their final newsletter, where they reflect on their participation. The three founders and mentors of CARL, Jon Adams, Jan Hartvigsen, and Greg Kawchuk, also evaluate the program. You can read more about this in the newsletter by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
